Floral Windows Quilt....

I can't believe I have entered the "Quilters Show & Tell" contest again.....but I couldn't resist ...its my favorite topic ...Flowers !

And I just had to show you my favorite quilt !

Floral Windows !

(Excuse the strange looking picture...it was taken long ways, the right side of the quilt is laying on the ground, I just turned it so you could see it better)

All the blocks are hand appliquéd...some of the fabrics are hand dyed ( a few especially for this quilt)

I loved making this quilt !!! It is a large quilt 85 " x 120" thats why its not quilted yet...the thought of trying to stuff it in my machine to quilt ...scares me ! ( I'll just wait till Lisa has time to quilt it on her long arm)

Since it is hard to photograph the quilt due to its size ....and its raining outside....here are close ups of the blocks....in order as they appear on the quilt.... get ready for ALOT of picutres !!!!

Trying to take pictures with it on my cutting table...not an easy task.

That was a lot of pictures!!!

The pattern is by Dianne Johnson, she has fabulous patterns.

The original pattern has ivy leaves appliqué on the sashing ...I decided not to do that ( I would of gone nuts appliquing all those leaves) besides I always visualized the sashing quilted with a leaf design instead.

I want to thank everyone for crossing their fingers & pressing their thumbs...

...surgery was a success ( from the doctors point of view) I'll know more once my knee heals.

For the next 10 days I am to relax in bed with my leg up....I wish my bed was this one on the beach...I am sure I would heal quicker !

Or maybe a sexy male nurse would help ??

Ahhh Girl can dream...in the meantime....

For the next 4 weeks I get the pleasure of hopping around on my old friends...Mr & Mrs. Crutches....( I hate those things !)

I am banded from doing Sports for 6 weeks...somehow I how no problem with that !

A friend sent me some Happy Pills....

With all of this how can I not be well ??

But I must say ....I do miss my sewing machine...I wonder how long I could sew with one leg up ?? Ummm , might have to try it!?

Operation....

Do you remember the game Operation ???

I loved it as a kid !

Wednesday I will be the one laying on the table....tomorrow we are leaving for Hamburg to have my knee operated on....I sure hope the Doctor is better at "Operation " then I was as a kid !! 

Please keep you fingers crossed ( thumbs pressed) ...that all goes well....

..I don't expect to coming out springing as a Gazelle....

but walking NOT like a 100 year old lady would be nice !!

Sure hope recovery goes fast ..I'm not good with crutches and laying around all day ( regardless what my Hubby says !)

Have a great week...I know I will ! I will be on pain killers!!!
